Earl Harris Calcote, age 90, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2012, in Phoenix, Arizona.
He was born on November 30, 1921, in San Augustine, Texas, to Jack Crockett Calcote and Mamie Elizabeth (Harris) Calcote. In the early nineteen forties he married Morine McGlothlin in Texas. She preceded him in death in 1975. On October 8, 1977, he married Leona Fay Curry in Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Earl spent his career in the United States Army and was a World War II veteran. He fought in Guadalcanal and the Battle of the Bulge.
He is survived by his wife, Leona Calcote of Fountain Hill[s], Arizona; son, Rev. Ronnie Calcote and wife Ray of Gustine; daughter, Cherry Snyder and husband James of Universal City, Texas; daughter, Barbara Dunaway and husband Wayne of San Antonio, Texas; son, Michael Calcote of Tucson, Arizona; daughter, Kimberly Keller of Tuscson, Arizona; daughter, Ramona Johnstone and husband Kenneth of Mesa, Arizona; Donald; Judith; thirteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
