MANNING

EARL MANNING, JR., born August 10, 1920, died September 16, 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 59 years, Mildred Rice Manning; and his son, Jerry Earl Manning. His survivors include his wife, Bonnie Tom Manning; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; and his other extended family.

Earl graduated from Louisiana State University in LaFayette with a degree in Chemistry. He worked for Shell Oil Company for 43 years, and was an active member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Earl was an active member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for many years. Throughout his years with Shell and different city locations, he always joined the local churches and served as Elder for five churches.

Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 12:00 P. M. until 1:00 P. M. Monday, September 19, 2005, in the Chapel of Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road at Dairy Ashford, where funeral services will follow at 1:00 P. M. Rev. Todd Adams and Rev. Dr. Gene Russell, will officiate. A private interment will be held for the immediate family only.
