Earl Stanly Darby

Earl Stanly Darby, 75, of Bridge City, died May 28, 2004, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 2004, at First Baptist Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Bob Boone, pastor, and Reverend Dale Lee, associate pastor of First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Mr. Darby resided in Bridge City since 1944. He was a retired electrical instrument supervisor for DuPont Sabine River Works. He was also a member and a Deacon at First Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by his son, Marc Darby, he is survived by his wife, Wilma Darby of Bridge City; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Danny Cowart of Sallisaw, OK, and Sandra and Woody Woodrome of Bridge City; sister, Judy Byler of Jackson, TN; grandchildren, Dr. Brandi Cowart, Justin Cowart, Marc Bridgers, Dustin Bridgers, and Misty Smith; and great-grandson, Carson Smith.

Serving as pallbearers will be Grover Hoggatt, Don Peters, Reverend Dale Lee, Reverend Dale Vance, Justin Cowart, L.D. Young, and Dan Barker. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of First Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Bridge City.
