Leesley Rites Set on Friday At Plattsmouth

Funeral services for Earl S. Leesley, 70, of Plattsmouth will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the home of Caldwell-Linder Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. Rev. Erwin Kiel will conduct the rites. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mr. Leesley died at a Nebraska City hospital Tuesday following a stroke and an illness of one day.

He was born on Aug. 22, 1881, at Plattsmouth, the son of John and Louella Shannon Leesley. He was married on April 12, 1911, at Plattsmouth to Mary Caroline Long, who preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 1951. He was a member of the Methodist church and had lived a lifetime in Plattsmouth.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Leesley of Plattsmouth and Irwin Leesley of Springfield; three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Lee of Los Angeles; Mrs. Doris Hoover, Rapid City, S.D.; Mrs. Shirley Cary, Plattsmouth; one sister, Mrs. Mable Porter of Kansas City; eight grandchildren.

Two sons preceded him in death. Gerald died in March, 1949, and Edwin was killed in action in 1944 in World War II.

Visiting hours at the Caldwell-Linder Funeral Home will be from 4 to 6 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

Leesley Rites Held on Friday At Plattsmouth

Funeral services for Earl Strother Leesley, 71, of Plattsmouth were held at the Caldwell-Linder Funeral Home Friday afternoon. Rev. Erwin A. Kiel conducted the rites. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mr. Leesley died at a Nebraska City hospital Oct. 18, following a stroke and an illness of one day.

Music for the service was by Fred and Sarah Fischer.

Casket bearers were Alvin Ramge, Maynard Ramge, Robert Ramge, Albert Funk, Guy Long and Elmer Elliott.
