Earl F. Temple

SHREVEPORT, La. -- Services for Earl F. Temple, staff sergeant, U.S.A.F., retired, 74, of Kilgore, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Shreveport, La., with Brother Wayne Welborn of Danville United Methodist Church of Kilgore, officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Centuries Memorial Park in Shreveport, La.

Mr. Temple entered into rest on Sunday, November 19, 2006, after an extended illness. He was born in Rayville, La., and he lived in Kilgore for 13 years.

Mr. Temple was a retired staff sergeant with the U.S.A.F., serving his country during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He was a 32 degree Mason, Rayville Lodge and a Shriner. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved sports and his chocolate lab, Mollie.

Mr. Temple was preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd Temple, and his twin, Murl Eugene Temple.

He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Martha Temple; four sons, John Temple of Shreveport, La., Grady McBryde of Kilgore, Jeffery McBryde of Libery City, and Jeff Temple of Los Angeles, Calif.; two daughters, Rhonda Wolford and husband, Jimmy of Liberty City, and Julie Temple of Melbourne, Australia; two brothers, Ray Temple and wife, Jean of Muldrow, Okla., and W.M. “Tiny” Temple of Monroe, La.; seven grandchildren, Kassi, Steven, Lily, Patrick, Erica, Zach, and Mary; and one great-grandchild, Kolbi “Muffin.”

Honorary pallbearers will be Davin Ingle, Larry Barton, James Alexander, Kevin Allred, Ewell Pardue, Larry Carlisle, and John Parsons.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday evening, November 21, 2006, at the funeral home.
