EARLY GAINES HAWKINS
WAYNESBORO, Miss. -- Services for Early Gaines Hawkins, 82, well known farmer of Beat Four Community, who died in a hospital at Laurel, Tuesday, were held Wednesday afternoon in Boyles Chapel Methodist Church. The Rev. W. Jennings Poole and the Rev. Dave Harrison officiated. Burial was in the Boyles Chapel Cemetery under direction of Freeman Funeral Home.
Mr. Hawkins was born in Clarke County, but had resided in Wayne County for the past 62 years, where he operated a farm. He was a member of the Boyles Chapel Methodist Church and a member of the Strengthford Masonic Lodge.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Minnie West Hawkins; a son, E. G. Hawkins Jr.; six daughters: Mrs. Myrtle Lee, Mrs. Maud Bell, Mrs. Selma Varner, Mrs. Edith Russell, Mrs. Lola Davis and Mrs. Virgie Gray; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, and two sisters: Mrs. Edith Temples and Mrs. Emma Smith.
