Rites Held Monday For Anton Resident

Funeral services for E. L. McCarty, 54, veteran of the first world war who died Sunday night at his home on route 2, Anton, were held at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Anton Baptist church.

Rev. Draper, pastor, officiated, with burial in Anton cemetery under direction of Rix Funeral home of Lubbock.

McCarty, who had recently returned home from the Veterans hospital at Albuquerque, is survived by his wife; one son, L. S. McCarty; one daughter, Mrs. Loretta Shipley; and two brothers and two sisters who live in Mississippi.
