FRANK T. BETTIS

Funeral services were expected to be held today for Frank T. “Jack” Bettis, 57-year-old resident of 6020 Lexington Ave., who died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday following a heart attack.

Mr. Bettis was a retired shoemaker and had been ill for some time. Following the attack Sunday he was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body was shipped by rail Monday to Marietta, Ga., where funeral services and burial will take place.

Mr. Bettis is survived by his widow, Mrs. Wyttie B. Bettis, of the Lexington St., address; his mother, Mrs. Dora Wiley Bettis, Marietta, Ga., one son, Ernest Roy Bettis, Marietta; five sisters, Mrs. W. R. Rickman, Smyrna, Ga., Mrs. J. R. Wikley, Doranville, Ga., Mrs. E. Rich, Mrs. T. C. Rickman and Mrs. A. F. Sinyard, all of Marietta, and four brothers, G. T. Bettis and R. C. Bettis, both of Marietta; H. L. Bettis, Rome, Ga., and John T. Bettis, Atlanta, Ga.

Mr. Bettis was a veteran of World War I and World War II and had been a Shreveport resident for the past 20 years. He was a native of Marietta.
