Edgar E. Garrison, Jr.
1924 - 2010

Funeral services for Edgar E. Garrison, Jr., 86, of Sicily Island, La. will be held at Young's Funeral Home, Ferriday, La. on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Terry Ganey officiating. Interment will follow at Old Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Garrison was born January 11, 1924 in Sicily Island, La. and passed away Friday, April 23, 2010 at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, was an Agriculture Engineer with the USDA and employed by the Soil Conservation service. He was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church in Sicily Island. In the late 50's, Mr. Garrison founded the Sicily Island Skating rink, which he owned and operated for many years. His passion in life was fishing and flying his plane.

He was preceded in Death by:

Daughter-Donna Thornhill and husband Steve of Monterey, La.
Son-Gene A. Garrison and wife Stephanie of Thibodaux, La.
Six granchildren-Angie Weeks Caylor, of Sicily Island, Casey Lamar Weeks, and wife Jessica, of Madison, Ms., Andrea Thornhill Peterson, of Clinton, Ms, Carol Ann Follmer and husband Jeff of Monterey, La, Diana A. Thornhill Bazill and husband Joseph of Vidalia, La, and Hollie Garrison of Lafayette, La.
Eight great-grandchildren-Parker Caylor, Lyssa Caylor, Sadie Weeks, Hunter Martin, Dusty Follmer, A.J. Follmer, Arryn Peterson and Lillie Bazill

The Pallbearers will be his grandsons, great-grandsons and other family members.

The family will receive friends at Young's Funeral Home, Ferriday, La. from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Old Pine Hill Cemetery Fund at Sicily Island State Bank.
