EDITH HOLIFIELD

Edith Holifield, 71, of Stringer, died today at NuCare Convalescent Home. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Memory Chapel. Burial will be in Mulberry Cemetery in Jasper County. The Rev. Bobby Jones will officiate.

Mrs. Holifield was a lifelong resident of Jasper County, homemaker and Baptist.

She is survived by her widower, Oscar J. Holifield of Stringer; son, Gary Holifield of Stringer, daughters, Judy Tucker of Sharon and Kay Hunt of Mobile, Ala.; brothers. Verba Bankston of Rose Hill; sisters, Addie Enzler of Placerville, Calif., Belle Barney of Shingle Springs, Texas, Emma Carter, Dee Clark and Annie Ruth Ervin, all of Stringer, and Bertie Sasser of Bay Saint Louis; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. today at Memory Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
