Edith Odell Evans
Funeral services for Edith Odell Elkins Evans, 92, of Wright City, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Rusk County Memorial Gardens under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson.
Mrs. Evans died Aug. 12, 2010, at her residence. She was born Sept. 23, 1917, in Bivins, Texas. She was a former member of Full Gospel Church, Overton and was a homemaker.
Family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010, at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Bosie Milford Elkins and Josie Moore Elkins; husband, William Vernon Evans; sons, Allen Odell Evans and Eddie Daniel Evans; grandsons, Michael and Allen Evans; brother, John Allen Elkins; sisters, Hattie Kennedy and Mary Paige Younker; stepmother, Polly Elkins.
Survivors include: children, Willie V. Evans and wife Polly of Kilgore, Johnny M. Evans and wife Flo of White Oak, Bobby J. Evans and wife Bobbie Sue of Longview, Donald F. Evans of Liberty City, James A. Evans and wife Vickie of Wright City, Evelyn Maddox and husband Donald Wayne of Henderson, Billy Paul Evans and wife Karen of Wright City; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends; and caregivers, Alma Miller and Belinda Turlington; special thanks to Mike Fitzgerald and Compassionate Hospice Care.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Evans, Taylor Gamblin, Robert Lowery, Tracy Evans, Gary Evans and Buddy Furqueron.
