Edna Arden Lovell McCarty
March 28, 1925 -- June 2, 2009

Services for Edna Arden Lovell McCarty will be held at 11: 30 a.m., Friday, June 5, 2009 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverend Brad Webb officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Chris Costantino, Russell Boney, Shannon Boney, Russell Day, Gary Lovell and Toby Lovell. Honorary pallbearer will be Heath Costantino.

Mrs. McCarty, 84, was called home to be with God, Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at The Oaks Care Center.

She was born March 28, 1925 in Wheeling, Louisiana. She was a member of Tioga First Baptist Church for many years. During her working life she was a chauffer at Camp Livingston during World War II and drove for several Generals. She was a practical nurse at Baptist Hospital, a seamstress, a secretary for Aetna Insurance, and also was a beautician. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to those who knew her. She loved to cook and travel.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William Arthur McCarty, Jr.; parents, Buck & Edna Mae Durham Lovell; daughter, Merilyn Haydel Harris; brothers, R. D. Lovell, Tim Lovell, Johnny Pugh Lovell and Lloyd Branton Lovell; sisters, Iva Lovell, Ava Johnston, Rudith Fletcher and Willie B. Lovell.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Judith Haydel Matayoshi, Kay McCarty Costantino and husband, Raymond and Janelle McCarty Boney and husband, Milton; son-in-law, Don Harris; grandchildren, Greg Morrison and wife, Mary, Chris Costantino, Russell Boney and wife, Samantha, Shannon Boney, Nicole Costantino Day and husband, Russell, Justin Harris, Gregg Harris; great grandchildren, Ashley Trisler, Christopher Heath Costantino, Emily Day, Chloe Boney, Jeri Boney, Aden Harris, Abram Harris and great great grandchild, Kailynn Nicole Trisler; many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Friends may call Thursday at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
