Edna Crain Newell

Graveside services for Mrs. Edna Crain Newell, 80, of Columbia were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 1997 at the Adams Cemetery with Rev. Jim Goodman officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

Mrs. Newell, the daughter of the late Alvin and Pearl Stearns Crain, was born in Hebron, Louisiana on June 25, 1916 and died on February 10, 1997 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one son, Robert Lynn Newell of Grayson; one daughter, Mildred Irene Bostic of Wichita, Kansas; one brother, Carlton Crain of West Monroe; two sisters, Beulah Roberts of Kelly and Eula West of Minden; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Glen Barnhill, Glen Benson, Glen Belk, Tilman Sweet, Fary Prudhomme, and Wayne Nelson.
