Edna Gilliam Lee

Mrs. Edna Mai Gilliam Lee, 95, a former long time resident of Bernhardt Blvd., departed this life on Friday, May 27, 2005 at Life Care Center.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 3, 2005 at 2 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Tim McHenry officiating. Burial will be in the Haynes Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.

She was a native of Maury County and the daughter of the late George Washington and America Elizabeth Davidson Gilliam. She was married to Elmer Lee on December 3, 1932, who died October 27, 1981. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastside Church of Christ.

Survivors include three daughters, Joann (Guy) Davis of South Daytona Beach, Florida, Sue (Jack) Garrett of Lewisburg and Mary Paul (John) Sweeney of Columbia; one son, James (Martha) Lee of Spring Hill; one sister, Hettie Hardison of Gallatin; three brothers and five sisters-in-law, Herbert (Dot) Gilliam, Hollis (Jean) Gilliam, Boyd (Lois) Gilliam, Ela Gilliam, and Georgia Gilliam all of Columbia; six grandchildren, Kim Park, Tim Sweeney, Mark Davis, Troy Sweeney, Pam Newman, and Mia Lawrence; and five great grandchildren, Bryant Davis, Nathan Davis, Logan Lawrence, Eliza Sweeney, and Meredith Sweeney; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Carl Gilliam, Floyd Gilliam, Howard Gilliam, Jessie Gilliam, and Arvis Gilliam.

Pallbearers will be Mark Davis, Tim Sweeney, Troy Sweeney, Guy Davis, Jack Garrett, and John Sweeney. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.
