Hinds Resident Dies Thursday

Mrs. O. E. Hardage, resident of the Hinds community for the past 32 years, died at a local hospital Thursday afternoon, at the age of 55.

Mrs. Hardage was born in Lee [sic Leake] County, Mississippi, on March 29, 1897. She moved to Hinds in 1920.

A Church of Christ member, she married Mr. Hardage July 31, 1936.

Services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the East Paradise Street Church of Christ with Roy Deaver, minister [officiating]. S[h]e will be buried in East View Memorial Park under direction of the Henderson Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Gwendolyne Piper; two sons, O. J. Wallace [sic Walker] and Leroy [Hardage]; one daughter, Mrs. Frieda McClain; three sisters, Emma Fortune, Mattie Taylor and Lula Carpenter; and one brother, W. D. Jordan

Pall bearers will be Roy Clark, Royal Duke, Ab Taylor, Luke Tacker, Brown Shores and Tom Lewis.

Mrs. Hardage Is Buried Saturday

Mrs. O. E. Hardage, a resident of the Hinds community for 32 years, was buried in East View Memorial Park Saturday following services in the East Paradise Street Church of Christ. Roy Deaver, minister, officiated. Interment was under the direction of the Henderson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hardage died Thursday in a local hospital at the age of 55.

She was born in Lee [sic Leake] County, Mississippi, in 1897. She married J. A. Walker in 1922. Mr. Walker died in 1934. She married Mr. Hardage in 1936.

Mrs. Hardage is survived by one son, O. J. Walker; one stepson, LeRoy Hardage; two daughters, Gwendolyne Piper and Frieda McClain; seven grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
