Funeral services for Edna Mae Johnston Wood 91 of Winnsboro will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday July 20, 2013 at the Bouef River Baptist Church, Liddieville, LA with Bro. Jimmy Harper and Bro. Benton Moore officiating. Interment will be in Ogden Cemetery, Liddieville, under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro
Mrs. Wood passed away Thursday July 18, 2013 in Winnsboro. She worked for the Franklin Parish School in the cafeteria at Ogden High School for 18 years, she was the meal site Manager at Fort Necessity until she retired at the age of 87, after retiring from there she began working for the Franklin Parish Council on Aging. Mrs. Wood was a regular participant in the Senior Olympics, winning several medals in various events. She loved to garden and spend time with her family and friends and was loved by many and always had a smile and a kind word to anyone she met.
Survivors include her sons; Charles Wood and wife Peggy of Ferriday, LA, Bobby Wood and wife Bobbie of Winnsboro, LA, her daughters; Mae Givens and husband Curtis of Choudrant, LA, and, Debbie Curington of Winnsboro, LA, a daughter-in-law Debbie Wood of Winnsboro, LA;
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years H.M. “Jack” Wood her son John Wood, her daughter Ann Hodge and a granddaughter Donna “DeDe” Wood.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons; Richard Wood, Bubba Given, Chris Curington, Andy Johnston, Steve McNeely, Kyle Emfinger and Johnny Smalley.
Honorary pallbearers will be; Ethan Wood, Charlie Emfinger, Adam Wood, John Powell, Caleb Powell, Drake Givens, Dylan McManus, Carter McManus, Trevor Brown, Charlie Smith, Josh Ladotto, , Justin Ladotto, Clay McNeely and Evan McNeely
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday July 19, 2013 at the Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro, LA
