Edna Mae Blackwell Emmons
May 19, 1927 - June 4, 2014

Edna M. Blackwell Emmons, 87, a native of Boyce and resident of Lake Charles was entrusted to God's Loving Care on June 4, 2014 in a local care center.

She was retired from the United States Department of Agriculture. She was a faithful Christian in her walk with the Lord. Edna was very active with the 4th Avenue Church of God for many years. She loved her family and enjoyed working in her garden.

Survivors include her son, Barry Blackwell and wife, Clare of Moss Bluff; step-Son, William D. Emmons; daughter, Glenda Hong and husband, Chuck of Houston, TX; sister, Irene Elliott and husband, Dr. Benge Elliott of San Marcos, TX; 8 Grandchildren, 1 Step-grandson, 11 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Step-Great-Grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband's Glen Blackwell and Roy Emmons and her parents Elon and Ethel Miller.

Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at 5:00pm until 8:00pm. The Visitation will continue on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 8:30am until time of service at 10:30am. Rev. Randy Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Welcome Cemetery in Simpson, LA.
