Edward R. Banks

Edward R. Banks of Greenville, a retired Louisiana farmer, died in General Hospital here at 12:30 a.m. today after an illness of six weeks. He was 90.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of National Funeral Home by the Rev. L. R. Alford, Baptist minister. Burial will be in Leland-Stoneville Cemetery.

Mr. Banks lived in Caldwell Parish, La., and came to Greenville five years ago to make his home with a son, Clarence Banks.

He leaves a daughter, Mrs. A. S. Carter of Greenville and five sons, J. L. Banks and Seville Banks, both of Monroe, La., Clarence Banks of Greenville, Henry Banks of Haughton, La., and Ladell Banks of Ida, La.

Also surviving include 29 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.

The active pallbearers include J. D. Jacobs, Leroy Ridings, George Banks, J. L. Banks Jr., Clarence E. Banks and Edward Banks.
