Edward Delane Walker
May 24, 1951 - May 16, 2015

Edward Delane Walker was born in Camden to James Edward and Viaud Adams Walker on May 24, 1951. After several hard-fought years of pain, he went to Heaven on May 16, surrounded by loved ones at his home.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Viaud Walker; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Eppinette; grandson, Joshua Walker; and his grandparents.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bevraly Sue Walker; a son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Wendy Walker of Texarkana,Texas; a daughter and son-in-law,Toni and Daniel Walker, of Daingerfield; 5 grandchildren: Kailee, Jackson, Jonah, Rachael, and Anistyn; his father, James Walker, of Atlanta, Texas; a brother, Robert Walker and wife Danielle, of Laurinburg, North Carolina; a sister,Wanda Woods, of Grand Prairie, Texas; and 6 nieces and nephews: Heather,Dusty, Ryne, Lacey, Kristen, and Ryan.

In addition to his role of husband and father, Delane was also an active in civic organizations, serving many years in the Queen City, Texas Lions Club, holding many positions, including President and Zone Chairman. He also coached many youth baseball teams in the Atlanta, Texas area. He was employed by International Paper for 30 - plus years at the Camden, Domino,Texas, and Selma, Alabama mills, and enjoyed camping, fishing,woodworking, and computers. He was also member of the White Oak Lake Friends and served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate, or CASA advocate with the 13th Judicial District CASA North, in Ouachita County.

Funeral services for Mr. Walker will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Elliott Baptist Church under the direction of Proctor Funeral Home. The family will receive guests from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Horeb Cemetery.
