Services for Edward Earl Whittington of Brookhaven are 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 23, at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Liberty with burial in Jacobs Cemetery near Liberty. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Burnette Carraway.
Visitation is Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Whittington, 60, died Jan. 19, 2003, at King's Daughters Medical Center. He was born in Amite County on Dec. 15, 1942, to Sammie L. and Georgia Reeves Whittington.
He was a retired dryer finisher for Georgia Pacific Plywood in Gloster. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
Preceding him in death was his father and his nephew, Chad T. Whittington.
Survivors are his mother, Georgia R. Whittington of Liberty; his brother, Roger Whittington and wife Sylvia of Smithdale; his nieces, Rhonda Abrams and Heather Martin; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Georgiana Abrams, Aliza Beth Abrams, Chad Taylor Martin and Corey Dale Martin.
Pallbearers will be Roger Lewis, John Martin, Dyral Abrams, Grant Lewis, John Fleming and Wayne Wallace.
