Edward L. Dressel
Edward Dressel. 78, of O'Fallon, IL, born August 19, 1933 in O'Fallon, IL, passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 in his home surrounded by his family. Edward was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of the O'Fallon Masonic Lodge 576 AF & AM, Ainad Shrine in East St. Louis and past president of the Ainad Shrine Color Guard, an honorary member of the Ainad Shrine Legion of Honor and a member of the Royal Order of Jesters, Court 86. He was also a former member of the O'Fallon High School Board of Education and former President of the OTHS Band Boosters. Edward was a member of the O'Fallon United Church of Christ where he served as a member of the consistory. Beginning his career in the mailroom, Edward was a 47 year employee of the Nooter Corporation in St. Louis, retiring in 1995 as Assistant Director of Purchasing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael O. and Elizabeth M., nee Schiermann, Dressel, and a sister Dorothy Seipp.
Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Joan M., nee Roberts, Dressel, and son Mark E. and Cindy L. Dressel, with daughters Ashley, Kari and Catherine Sanden of O'Fallon, IL, son Kent A. and Catherine A. Dressel with children Mariah and Graham Dressel of Arlington, TX, a brother Norman J. Dressel of O'Fallon, IL and nieces and nephews, Edward, Dennis and Larry Seipp and Beverly Dressel.
Memorials in honor of Edward may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.schildknechtfh.com.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 4-8 pm at Schildknecht Funeral Home, O'Fallon, IL. There will be a Masonic Service at 6:30 pm and a Royal Order of Jesters walk-thru at 7:13 pm.
Funeral service, officiated by the Reverend Larry E. Patton, will be held Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 9:30 am at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
Services entrusted to Schildknecht Funeral Home and Cremation Services, O'Fallon, IL.
