EDWIN ERNEST CARROLL.

Edwin Ernest Carroll, 51, of 18301 Susquehanna, Independence, died yesterday at the Osteopathic hospital where he had been a patient 20 days.

He was born in Dallas and moved to Independence 12 years ago from San Diego, Calif. He retired in 1953 after 24 years in the Navy. Mr. Carroll was a chief petty officer. He was employed at the Sheffield Steel plant as a boiler operator.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruby Carroll of the home; a stepson, Vernon L. Hart, 8011 East Ninety-third; his mother, Mrs. Grace Carroll, and two sisters, Mrs. H. C. Maxwell and Mrs. C. L. Stogsdill, all of Dallas, and two grandchildren.
