BAILEY SR., EDWIN L. ``DICK''
A retired carpenter and member of Carpenter's Union Locals No. 1098 and No. 496 for more than 50 years, he died at 1:30 p.m Saturday, Aug. 17, 1996, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 81, a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Meridian, Miss. Visiting at Hollabaugh-Spindle Funeral Home, 1553 Wooddale Blvd. at Tom Drive, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at the funeral home 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Huey Moak. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker.
Survived by wife, Lillie Mae Bailey, Baton Rouge; a daughter, Joyce Rodriguez, Baton Rouge; a son, Edwin L. Bailey Jr., Baton Rouge; a sister, Vallie Rhee Blair, Baton Rouge; a brother, Maurice Bailey, Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, Manuel and Vallie Bailey; two sisters, Ella Nean Bailey and Ettie Mae Bailey; and a brother, William Bailey. He was a member of Foster Road Baptist Church.
