E. M. SCARBOROUGH

Funeral services for Edwin Mathias Scarborough, 80, of 1714 W. Common St. were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Hixson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Charles S. McIlveene officiating.

Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery at Pineville.

Mr. Scarborough died Saturday in a Lake Charles hospital.

He was a native of Natchitoches who had lived here for 36 years and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

He was a retired highway department superintendent of district 5 for the Louisiana Highway Department. Previously he had been employed by the Louisiana Department of Safety.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ida Scarborough of Lake Charles; two sons, Edwin Scarborough of Slidell and Col. Stanley Scarborough of High Wycombe, England; one daughter, Mrs. Francis Watson of Lake Charles; three sisters, Mrs. R. R. Dennis of Lake Providence, Mrs. Pearl Pine of West Monroe and Miss Bonnie Scarborough of Lake Providence; and two granddaughters.
