MRS. EDYTHE LOUISE MCKEITHEN (KIT) WALTERS
Private funeral services will be held for Mrs. Edythe Louise McKeithen Walters, 79, Monroe at
Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Cemetery with Rev. Lowell C. Ashbrook officiating. Burial will
be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home on
Sterlington Rd., Monroe.
Mrs. Walters died Monday, January 2, 1989 at H. C. A. North Monroe Hospital after a lengthy
illness.
Mrs. Walters was born in Grayson, LA but had been a life-long resident of Monroe. She was a
retired Registered Nurse and a member of Convantant Presbyterian Church and was active with the
Council on Aging and the Music Community.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law: Lloydelle Walters and Loren Keith Hopkins,
Monroe; Grandson: 1st Lt. Harvy Birdsong III, West Berling [sic]; two great granddaughters:
Melissa Lauren Birdsong and Holly Elizabeth Birdsong; two step grandchildren: Tracy Hopkins,
Lubbock, TX; Teresa Noel of Woodward, OK; one brother, O. A. McKeithen, Eureka Spring, AR; three
sisters: Theressa Head, Kiln, MS; Florence Bates, Boyce, LA; Joyce Carr, Port Lavaca, TX; number
nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Council on Aging to the attention of Mrs. Clara Abbott, 1209
