Effie Jewell Black Payne

Services for Effie Payne will be held at noon on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, in the chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville with Rev. Herb Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Methodist Cemetery, Gaars Mill, La. Services are under the direction of Rush Funeral Home of Pineville.

Mrs. Payne, age 87, of Pineville, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, in Hilltop Nursing Home.

She was a native of Louisiana, a retired medical technician, and a member of Pineville Park Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James O. Payne.

Survivors include three daughters, Ann Weaver of Pineville, Sharon Young of Jackson, Miss., and Deborah Steward of Fort Collins, Colo. five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, from 8 a.m. until time of services at noon at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
