Elaine Barron Edwards

Elaine Barron Edwards, 77, of Summit, died Aug. 21, 1999, at her residence.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. today at Hartman Funeral Home until 3 p.m. services at Hollywood Cemetery. Dr. David Millican will officiate.

Mrs. Edwards was born Aug. 7, 1922, in Pike County. She was the daughter of John Floyd Barron and Ellen Wilson Barron.

A member of Tangipahoa Baptist Church, she owned Edwards Grocery of Summit.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Whitfield Edwards; a brother, James Marvin Barron; and a niece, Billie Spence Ost.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, George Ronald and Sue Edwards of Las Vegas; two daughters and a son-in-law, Joyce Elaine and Dickey Fenn of Houston, Texas, and Neva Edwards Swan of Summit; a sister, Wilma Barron Spence of Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren and spouses, Matthew Mason Swan and Jennifer Barron Swan, both of Boston, Mass., George Scott Fenn and Renee, and Charles Timothy and Sharalynn Fenn, all of Houston, Brett Whitfield Fenn of Waco, Texas, and Joyce Elaina and Chris Peterie of Dallas; two great-grandchildren, Haley Michelle and Charles Sanders Fenn, both of Houston; and a special niece, Jeannie Barron McDaniel of Magnolia.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Matthew Mason Swan, George Scott Fenn, Charles Timothy Fenn, Brett Whitfield Fenn, Christopher Warren Peterie and Charles Franklin ``Smokey'' Young Jr.
