Elbert M. `Jack' Cruse
Funeral services for Mr. Elbert M. (Jack) Cruse, 81, of Winnsboro were held Sunday at Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro with the Rev. Allen Miller and Rev. Bobby Brown officiating.
Interment followed in Lone Cedar Cemetery near Winnsboro under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Mr. Cruse died Friday, April 18, 1997 at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and a Charter Member of Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Nellie Mae Cruse of Winnsboro; one son, Elbert M. Cruse, Jr. and wife Charlene of Brusley; one daughter, Alice C. Ward and husband Charles Edward Ward of Winnsboro; one brother, Lemmie C. Cruse of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Marie Ross of Winnsboro, Marvee Chesney of Monroe, Joyce Fain of Winnsboro; three grandchildren, Rusty and Amanda Cruse of Brusly and Eric Cruse of Winnsboro.
Pallbearers were Kyle Fain, Clifton Lord, John Winters, Keith Taylor, Buster Ross and Winton Lofton.
Members of the VFW Post #3155 conducted a flag presentation ceremony.
