Emmons

Elberta Emmons, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, went to be with the Lord Oct. 12, 2004, after a long courageous battle with Parkinson's. She was born to Herman and Martha Kieschnick May 29, 1928 in Lincoln. She valued her family, friends and church. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rosenberg.

Elberta is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gus, George, Elmo, Herman ``Junior,'' and Alton; sisters: Sidonia Cromeans, Elsie Zoch, and Bernice Zscheck.

She is survived by daughter, Janet Anderson and husband John, of Pleak; son, Daniel Emmons and wife Teresa, of Richmond; grandchildren: Jessica Ruth Hager and husband Brandon, of Irving, Lori Ann Mireles and husband Joe, of San Antonio, Charles Rene Emmons of Wharton, Jacqueline Emmons of Dallas, and Christopher Daniel Emmons of Austin; great-grandchildren: Sean Jacob and Alexis Brittany Emmons, Gabriela, Matthew Jaco, Meagan Marie, and Emily Elizabeth Mireles.

She is also survived by sisters: Aileen Rutz and husband Kurt, of Columbus, Ohio, and Evelyn Frosh and husband Herb, of Austin; brother-in-law John Cromeans of Decatur, Ala.; sisters-in-law Ruth Kieschnick of Austin, Edna Kieschnick of Giddings, and Adeline Kieschnick of Lincoln; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rosenberg. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Wayne Schueler officiating the services.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 in the chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.

Pallbearers will be John Anderson, Larry Anderson, Charles Emmons, Chris Emmons, Brandon Hager and Joe Mireles.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ivan Mefford and the staff at Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital.
