Eldon F. Emmons
(February 3, 1926 - March 7, 2011)

Eldon F. ``Stump'' Emmons, 85, went to be with his Heavenly Father on March 7, 2011.

Stump began his life on February 3, 1926 in Erick, Oklahoma as the son of Elmer and Lula Emmons. Stump grew up in a Christian home with lots of love, joy and laughter. He exhibited these traits in his daily life and passed them on to his family and friends.

Stump served in the Marines from 1945 to 1952. Upon his return from service, he married Pauline Gossett and they raised their girls in Central Texas.

Stump is survived by his loving daughters Carolyn Cox and husband Larry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jana Emmons-Hathaway and husband John of Round Rock, Texas, Debra Harris and husband Bill of Conroe, Texas, Pamela Hall and husband Ron of Harker Heights, Texas, and son-in-law Danny Turner of Taylor, Texas. Grandchildren Debra Smith, Becky Norris, Christopher Davenport, Michael Turner, Bradley Harris, Deana Fitzsimon, Samantha Keith, Amy Myer, Michael Cox, Steven Cox, 17 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Nell Benton and husband, Buddy of Spearman, Texas, sister-in-law Faye Gossett of Birmingham, Alabama and numerous nieces, nephews and lots of friends.

Stump was preceded in death by his loving wife Pauline, loving daughter Jonell Turner, his parents, sister Imogene Stone, grandson Forest Wayne Cox and great-grandson James Randall Norris.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Providence Funeral Home, Taylor, TX. Celebration of Life Services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Memorial Baptist Church, Taylor, TX. Burial will take place in Sayre, Oklahoma on Friday, March 11, 2011.
