WALLACE, ELEANOR MURPHY

Died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 1995, at Ollie Steele Burden Manor. She was a native of St. Gabriel and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting was held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with recitation of the rosary at 7:30 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home, 8:30 to 9:40 a.m. Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Cathedral at 10 a.m. Thursday, celebrated by the Rev. Frank Uter and Monsignor Robert Berggreen. Burial in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Survived by a son, Thompson M. ``Tommy'' Wallace and daughter-in-law, Rita Baker Wallace; two daughters, Virginia Wallace Ward and George ``Pretty'' Wallace Jones; three sisters, Mrs. James N. (Winifred) Lucas, Mrs. Joseph (Pat) Gammell and Mrs. Charles S. (Laure) Williamson; and a brother, Lewis Prescott Murphy, all of Baton Rouge; and two grandchildren, Eleanor Vera Wallace, Atlanta, Ga., and George Baker Wallace, Baton Rouge.

Preceded in death by husband, George Moncure Wallace; parents, John Barrett Murphy and Eleanor Prescott Murphy; three brothers, Thomas Foster Murphy, John B. Murphy Jr. and James C. Murphy; and a sister, Annie Lou Murphy. Pallbearers will be Barrett Murphy, James Murphy, Tommy Murphy, Joseph Murphy, George Edward Williamson, William ``Bill'' Gammill, Paul Keisler and J.W. Ventress.

Honorary pallbearers are Charles L. Bahlinger, H. Scott ``Scotty'' Dunlop, Charles Williamson, Samuel McNeely, Robert Lund, Kha Bui, Dr. J.D. Martin, Michael Murphy, Randolph Kean, Andy O'Brien, Gordon Wallace ``Son'' Smith, Luther Moore, Hart Dunbar, Pete Kimball, A. Hayes Town, Charles Metrailer and Richard Murphy.

She was a member of the Baton Rouge Garden Club, Heriome Gaines Chapter of DAR and Dames of Magna Carta. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Cathedral or St. Vincent de Paul Society.
