*Some undocumented sources give Elias RAYNER's date of death as 1901. However, his wife Elizabeth is listed as a widow in the 1900 census for Jasper Co., MS. Her listed age in the 1900 census and the listed ages of her children Sophronia and Mack are inconsistent with the 1880 census. The 1880 census also apparently provides a duplicate record for the household of Elias RAYNER with slightly different entries for his children. The 1900 census indicated that Elizabeth had given birth to eight children with five living while the 1910 census indicated that she had given birth to eight children with four living. Census records for the ages of members of this family are extremely unreliable.
