Elijah Emmons, 93

OAKDALE, La. -- Elijah Emmons, 93, of Beaumont, Tex. and formerly of Oakdale died at 11 p.m. Tuesday in a Nederland, Tex., hospital.

Survivors include, four sons, Wesley Emmons of Fort Worth, Tex., E.J. Emmons and Leon Emmons, both of Beaumont, Tex. and Danny Emmons of Chicago, Illinois; three daughters, Mrs. Sarah Winn of Oakdale, Mrs. Emma Whatley of Nederland, Tex. and Mrs. Gail King of Turkey Creek; one brother, Bud Emmons of Turkey Creek, 27 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held today at 2:30 p.m. in the West Missionary Bible Baptist church at Oakdale with Rev. B.A. Adams officiating. Burial was in Cryer cemetery under direction of Rush Funeral Home of Oakdale.
