Eliska “Kicka” Hill
December 27, 1915 - February 21, 2016
Eliska Hill, most commonly known as ‘Kicka’ passed away in the early morning of Sunday, February 21, 2016. The family is so thankful God took her so peacefully with her loving daughter Sharon by her side. Her last few days were spent with numerous family members which we know made her so very happy. Kicka's greatest pleasure was spending time with her family.
Kicka was born December 27, 1915 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Hallie and Gussie Barber. She is survived by her two children, daughter Sharon Eliska Long and son-in-law Gene Long, and son Albert Earl Nix and daughter-in-law Margaret Nix, Dwain and daughter-in-law Nancy Hill, sister-in-law Betty Barber, and many cousins whom she loved dearly. Also, she was survived by 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, nephews Hallie R. Barber and Tommy Dale Montgomery, great nieces and nephews, and many cousins and friends. Her latest great grandson was born just hours after her passing on February 21, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents Hallie and Gussie, her wonderful husband Ivis H. Hill of 56 years, her youngest daughter Jan Ivis Beebe and son-in-law George Beebe, sister Cleavey Harrell, and brother Hallie Barber, niece Barbara Ann Porter, great nieces Kim and Marsha, and many cousins and friends.
