Elizabeth Livingston Gebsen
January 17, 1932 - June 7, 2015
Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” Livingston Gebsen, age 83, passed from this life on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Providence Hospital after a brief illness.
She is preceded in death by her former husband, Harold Douglas Livingston, parents, Fred E. Austin and Gussie Parlee Williams, grandson, Zachary Wiik and sister, Carmen Jane LeMay.
A former “Miss Mobile” herself, she organized and conducted scholarship pageants at the county and state levels. Mrs. Gebsen served a gubernatorial appointment as Chairman of the Board of Registrars for Mobile County. She served as Chairman of the Dauphin Island Park and Beach Board and was a member of the Bayou LaBatre City Council for two terms.
Mrs. Gebsen is survived by her husband, Colonel C. U. “Bud” Gebsen, USMC (Ret.), seven children, Tanja Atkinson, Fredrick Livingston, Billiejean Livingston, Jennifer Livingston, Taylor Livingston, Page Gebsen and Erick Gebsen. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Chapel services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Pine Crest West Cemetery.
