ELIZABETH LEE OZMENT -- Teacher

Elizabeth Lee Ozment, 79, a teacher at Lynbrook Elementary School in Springfield from 1959 to 1975, died of congestive heart failure and lung ailments Jan. 5 at Alexandria Hospital. She lived at Goodwin House West in Falls Church.

Mrs. Ozment was born in Banks, Ark. She attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello and Henderson State University and was a graduate of George Washington University.

She was a teacher in Arkansas before moving to the Washington area in 1939. She was a finance clerk with the War Department during World War II.

Mrs. Ozment was a member of Springfield United Methodist Church and a volunteer with the preschool of Fairlington United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Oral Ozment of Falls Church; two sisters, Rachael Bardwell of Stuttgart, Ark., and Charlotte Emley of Omaha; and a grandson.

Her son, Thomas Lee Ozment, died in 1961, and a daughter, Judith Ozment Carmine, died in 1988.
