Funeral services for Ella S. McDonald, 81, of West Monroe, formerly of Harrisonburg, will be held at South Central Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Bill Cotton officiating. Interment will follow at Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mrs. McDonald was born May 29, 1926 in Harrisonburg, and passed away Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center, West Monroe. She was a resident of West Monroe, and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. McDonald; father, John T. Spillmon; mother, Lula (Bridges) Spillmon; three brothers: J. W. Spillmon, Billy Spillmon, and Eugene Spillmon.
Survivors include three daughter: Molly Wilson of Lumberton, Miss.; Toni McDonald Grundstrom of Magnolia, Ark.; and Theresa McDonald Winters of Batesville, Miss.; brother, Pete Spillman of Wisner; a host of nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Edward Spillmon, Josh Wilson, Steve Adams, Shane Osborn, Spud Grundstrom, and Albert Spillmon.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Wilson, Chris Wilson, Randy Wilson, Daniel Wilson, Steve Wilson, Stevie Spillmon, Alf Summerall, John Spillmon, Alvin Spillmon, and Ronald Spillmon.
The family will receive friends at South Central Baptist Church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2007.
