Ellorine Cottingham Morgan
Ellorine Cottingham Morgan, 79, of Calera died at home May 26, 2006.
She was born July 13, 1926, in Knoxville, Tenn., to
Ellarea Pratt Bryan and Walter Watson Cottingham.
She received her bachelor's degree in English from Huntington College and graduate studies in counseling from Auburn University at Montgomery. While attending AUM, she was editor of the college newspaper. In the midst of raising six children, she also owned and operated her own Art Studio in Centreville. Later in life, she turned to writing and was author of a recently published mystery novel, ``The Tattletale Parrot.''
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, James E. Morgan; two brothers, the Rev. W.O. (Alpha) Cottingham of Louisiana and Thomas Pratt (Theresa) Bryan of Washington; three daughters, Amelia (Jerry) Long of Louisiana, Donna (Wayne) Causey of Calera and Olivia Powers of Florida; three sons, Dan (Roberta) Morgan of Texas, Rick Morgan of Hoover and Ed (Melissa) Morgan of Florida; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Service was May 30 at 11 a.m. at Charter Funeral Home in Calera with burial in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery in Centreville following the service, Brother Terry Hill of Calera United Methodist Church presiding and Charter Funeral Home directing.
