2 Trucks Collide; Man Killed

A Tucson man was killed yesterday after his pickup truck was hit broadside by another truck at the intersection of Interstate 10 and Palo Verde road.

Elmer C. Prock, 45, 917 Calle Medina, died at St. Mary's Hospital two hours after the crash.

Arizona Highway Patrol officers said a heavy drilling truck driven by Neal Wilkins, 28, of Ajo failed to stop for a red light and struck Prock's vehicle.

Wilkins was cited for going through the light.

The death was the 50th Pima County traffic fatality this year compared with 45 killed on this date a year ago.
