Elmer ``Bo'' Hatton Jr.
November 25, 1937 - August 24, 2011

ELMER ROLAND ``BO'' HATTON, JR. was born November 25, 1937, in Delhi, Louisiana, the son of Elmer, Sr. and Noel Ogden Hatton. Bo was the eldest of three siblings. His brothers Kenneth Hatton and William ``Bill'' Hatton, both preceded him in death at a very young age.

Elmer's nickname ``Bo'' was given to him by his younger brother Kenneth, who could not say, Brother, so, he called him ``Bo''. This nickname has been with him throughout his entire life. He grew up in Louisiana, where he and his brothers spent most of their childhood. Bo began his education attending schools in Louisiana and then to Bellville High School, when his family relocated. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army. He was then Honorably Discharged from the Army and went on to attend Northeastern State College, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, graduating with a Bachelors of Science Degree in 1961. Some of Mr. Hatton's students began their education with him and went on to become successful doctors, pharmacists, and other professional careers. On January 26, 1990, there was an article in the high school paper, ``The Hoof-beat'', where students interviewed Mr. Hatton and realized that there was more to him than just the gift of teaching. He was a very talented man who began his work career as a gunsmith in 1967. Bo enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching television, and reading, especially technical books. During deer season, you could find him at his deer lease in West Texas.

If a man does not keep pace with his companies,
perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer.
Let him step to the music he hears,
However measured or far away.
