Former city alderman in Oakdale dies

OAKDALE -- Funeral services for Elmer Seals, 61-year-old ex-Oakdale city alderman, will be at 2 p.m. today in the Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel.

The Rev. H. T. Sullivan, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakdale cemetery.

Mr. Seals died at 7:15 a.m. Saturday in his home.

He served as city alderman from 1948-52, and from 1956-60. He was a life resident of Oakdale and was a retired merchant.

Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Leurlene [sic Luerlene] Scott; his father; J. A. Seals; three sisters, Mrs. V. P. Perkins, Mrs. Harold Richmond and Mrs. L. T. Crow, all of Oakdale; and three grandchildren.
