Elna H. Whittington
Elna Harris Whittington died at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at her home. She was 87 and a resident and native of Denham Springs. She was the retired owner of Whittington Nursing Home in Denham Springs.
Visitation was at Seale Funeral Home, Wednesday. Religious services were at the funeral home chapel Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Rob Burns. Burial was in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Danny Doughty, Denham Springs; three sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Anne Whittington, Don Whittington, and Tim and Suzan Whittington, all of Denham Springs; a brother, Preston Harris, Denham Springs; nine grandchildren and spouses, Kevin and Becky Whittington, Brian and Cissy Whittington, Larry and Mary Daniel, Stacy and Bryant Perkins, Tammy and Phillip Carpenter, Mykel Doughty, Lane and Tammy Whittington, Tiffanie and Mark Morris and Terrie and Brandon Olsen; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Whittington; parents, Edmond and Mary Milton Harris; four sisters, Lillian Porrier, Mary Langrasse, Dot Harris and Stella Mullins; and three brothers, Charles, Tampa and Ray Harris.
She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church.
