Elsie Branch Laurent
(July 9, 1942 - April 3, 2009)

Elsie (Branch) Laurent, age 66, of Creston, La., passed away Friday, April 3, 2009 at Willis Knighton Piermont Hospital in Shreveport.

Mrs. Laurent is the daughter of the late Cargle Branch, Sr. and the late Eva Gertrude Jowers Branch. She was also preceded in death by her twin brother: Jessie Branch and also by her sister Frances Freeman. Mrs. Branch is survived by three daughters: Shelia Laurent of Creston, Lynn Bates of Goldonna, and Mindy Desadier of Natchitoches; one brother Junior Branch of Winnfield; six grandchildren: Brittany, Samantha, Haley, Heather, Kenneth, Jr., Caitlyn. Mrs. Laurent is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2009 in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Huey White officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.

Pallbearers will be: Steve Stevens, Tony Hester, George Futrell, Josh Beach, Kenneth Sepulvado, and D. J. Flack.
