Elsie Odean Worthen
MANSFIELD, LA -- Graveside services for Mrs. Elsie Odean Worthen, age 81, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Mansfield Cemetery, Mansfield, LA, with Ron Brown officiating. Visitation will be Monday, January 12 from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Worthen passed away Saturday, January 10, 2009 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born in Franklin Parish, LA and had resided in Mansfield the past 40 years. She retired from Bell South with over 40 years of service and was a member of the Mansfield Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Worthen was a member of the pilots club and the bridge club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Worthen and brother, Billy Collins.
Survivors include nephew, Rodney Clarkson and wife Ginger of Homer, LA; four sisters, Mary Clarkson of Dunn, LA, Pat Miller of West Monroe, LA, Shirley Shelby of Taylor, MS and Willie Earl McNemar of CA; one brother, Johnny Collins of Baton Rouge, LA and a number of other nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Mansfield Presbyterian Church.
A special thanks is extended to friends, Dick and Gayle Richards and to caregivers, Mary Kennon, Mary Young, Maxine Crump and Bea Rankin.
