Parker Services Set On Saturday

SIKES -- Elvie B. Parker, 61, of Sikes, was killed in a logging accident around 12:36 p.m Thursday near Sikes.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sikes Apostolic Church under the direction of Southern Funeral [Home] of Shreveport.

Burial will be in the Hurricane Grove Cemetery in Sikes.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Gertrude Parker of Sikes; five sons, James Dale Parker, Carl Parker and John Parker, all of Sikes, Jerry Wayne Parker of San Diego, Calif., and Travis Parker of Olympia, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Cheryl Ann Pepper of Prairieville, and Mrs. Jean Tolbert of Sikes; four brothers, Alfred Parker and E. D. Parker both of Sikes, LaVall Parker of Winnfield and Sevelle Parker of Orange, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Abis [sic Avis] Simons of Urania; and 15 grandchildren.
