Elvin W. Whittington

Elvin W. Whittington, 73, of 1979 Marshall Place died Sept. 4, 1987, at Hinds General Hospital.

Mr. Whittington had lived in Jackson for 40 years, moving from Crystal Springs. He was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church and had retired from Nickles & Wells Construction Co.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Whittington; sons, Jerry Whittington and Harold Whittington, both of Pearl; daughters, Mrs. Linda Truitt of Madison, Mrs. Cathy Collins of Jackson and Mrs. Earline Eldridge of Ocala, Fla.; sisters, Mrs. Mary Catherine Phillips of Bellingham, Wash., Mrs. Carolyn Perkins of Dallas and Mrs. Ruby Bush and Mrs. Jewell Matthews, both of Crystal Springs; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
