Elwood Ferguson

ARCADIA -- Elwood D. Ferguson, 54, of 14618 6th St., died Thursday at 12:40 a.m. at Alvin Gulf Coast Hospital.

Funeral services will be held today at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the James Crowder Funeral Home, the Rev. Travis L. Holland officiating. Burial will follow in Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Alta Loma.

Ferguson was born Feb. 5, 1917, in Pocahontas County, Iowa. He was a salesman and life underwriter for the American National Insurance Co. of Galveston. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Arcadia. He had been a resident of Arcadia for the past 20 years.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jeanette C. Ferguson; a daughter, Miss Regina Lynn Ferguson of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Loraine Slewer of Guckeen, Minn.; and two brothers, Allen Ferguson of Gradnada, Minn. and Arlo Ferguson of Mulvane, Kan.

Pallbearers will be Don Morgan, Bobby Hulsey, Ricky Nittelsted, Robert Webber Jr., Roy Wollam and W. L. Hulsey.
