Emily M. McCarty

WISNER -- Services for Emily M. McCarty, 80, of Wisner, who died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro, will be at 2 p.m. today at New Hope Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Roy Archer and Kenny Patton officiating. Honorary clergy will be the Resv. Sidney Fletcher and John Bowman.

Burial will be at New Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Mrs. McCarty was a longtime resident of Catahoula Parish, a present resident of Wisner, a homemaker and a charter member of New Hope Pentecostal Church.

Mrs. McCarty was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie ``Buddy'' McCarthy [sic McCarty] and a daughter, Shirley Faye McCarty.

Survivors include a daughter, Pat Walker and husband, Elbert of Sicily Island; a son, Bill McCarty and wife Sharron of Sicily Island; a brother, Frank O. Mason Sr. of Sicily Island; a sister, Ida Patton of Summitt; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ken Batey, Dusty Bailey, Bobby Mason, Mitch Shirley, Stacey McCarty and Troy King.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mark McCarty, Dale Price, Sherman Ford, Jerry Golmon, Rev. Chris Hamilton, Casey Week, Kenny Cowart, Sonny Pasey and Mike Walker.
