Emily Norwood Stewart (Jackie) Auth (70) of Gautier died March 16, 2006, in Pascagoula after a brief illness. She was born April 23, 1935, in Laurel, Mississippi.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, George Edward and Ernestine Carlisle Norwood; her first husband, Norman Stewart; a son, Scott Stewart and a sister, Sarah Norwood Dossett.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Randy Auth; a son Eddie (Lana) Stewart; daughters Debby Stewart (Stephen) Renfroe, Beth Stewart Willis and her husband Brooke Chadick, Allison Stewart (Joe) Venecia; a step daughter Christy Auth (David) Tingle; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brothers Edward (Carol Ann) Norwood and Jimmy (Karen) Norwood.
Jackie was the founding sponsor of the Lockhearts Civic Organization of Moss Point. She was also a longtime substitute teacher in the Moss Point School System during the 1970s. She was a member of the Martin Bluff Baptist Church and a former member of First Baptist Church Moss Point, which provided love and support to her and her children following the death of Norman Stewart in 1967.
Jackie's greatest accomplishment was that, after being widowed at 32, she cared for, loved and successfully reared her five young children. She remained a loving and positive influence in their lives until her death.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 17, 2006 4:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Moss Point. Friends may visit with the family one hour in advance of the service.
In lieu of flowers and because of Jackie's love for the Pascagoula River, the family requests that donations be made to the Mississippi Chapter of the National Audubon Society's education center planned for Moss Point. (Audubon, 4836 Main Street, Moss Point, 39563)
Services are under the direction of O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home of Pascagoula.
