EMMA PEYTON DAY
Emma Peyton Day, 87, of Elizabethtown passed away Friday, November 6, 2015.
Emma was one of six children born to Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Peyton. She was born on November 25, 1927 in Jena, Louisiana.
She read many biographies and she knew at a very early age she wanted to be a nurse.
She attended Baylor University School of Nursing in Waco, Texas, at the age of 17.
She served her country as a Naval Officer for two years. Married her husband David Day and had two daughters, the loves of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Day and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Peyton.
Left to cherish her memory are Virginia Caswell (Bennie) and Dr. Susan Day, three granddaughters and three great grandchildren.
She entrusted her life to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She said she was ‘Fueled For Flight’ and ready to see Jesus.
Funeral services will be conducted 11AM Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at Elizabethtown Baptist Church with Dr. Daryl Lee Pepper officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4-8PM Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home and after 9AM Wednesday at the church.
Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
